When I Reflect About My Collegial, Professional Learning Community

Post at least three consequences of your experience being a part of a caring, collaborative learning community for your professional growth and development. Use any format you choose.
  • The two consequences of my learning experiences are not having face to face learning,  and not able to observe how colleagues can apply their learning experiences in the field. Unfortunately, I can not think of another consequences due to the fact this was a wonderful learning experience which I can demonstrate in my career.
Post one goal for using this collegial experience to enhance your advocacy, policy, and/or system development work on behalf of young children, families, and the early childhood community.
  • The goal for using this collegial experience will enhance my advocacy, policy, and system development work on behalf of young children, families, and the early childhood community because of all the knowledge I acquired and now I will be able to demonstrate within the community on how to be an informative advocate for children and families. Also, I want to be more involved with the local/state representatives for policies being implemented for early childhood funding/laws.

  1. Hi Brittney,
I agree that face to face learning is important but that one of drawback from online learning. I agree with that more funding is need for early learning programs. We as teacher have power to speak to leaders of the community and tell them the important to early learning programs. Thank you for sharing

Funding is one of the major issues that we all are battling, we have to keep voicing for quality education and quality educators that are receiving a decent wage for the hard work and dedication to our young learners. I wish you continued success on your educational journey.

I never thought about the aspect of observing colleagues in the field. I think having the chance to shadow fellow classmates in how they apply their gained knowledge. I fell that I have implemented a lot of the ideas and practices we have learned but I think the actually practice of seeing them at work would influence our practices as professionals. I agree we are now more informed advocates armed with information and educational knowledge to share with our communities to enhance the life of families and children in the communities we serve.

  4. Thank you colleagues for the feedback. I am constantly conducting observations of my colleagues and ECE professionals on a daily basis. I am learning new topics, and ideas everyday in the ECE field. Learning from this program and applying the tools to what we do is priceless. Best wishes to all of you.
